In an elevator, should dogs be carried or just kept on a short leash?
Background
Elevators are tight spaces, so many feel carrying a small dog is the clearest courtesy to neighbours. But larger dogs simply cannot be carried, and a short leash with the dog sitting in a corner is often perfectly safe. Nearly everyone agrees that waiting for the next car when someone looks uneasy goes a long way.
