Background

Tarantulas are silent, take up little space and often eat only once or twice a week, making them a low-maintenance display pet for busy people. On the other hand, handling is discouraged and many species live for decades, so they are a poor fit if you want cuddles. It really comes down to whether you enjoy simply watching.
